Sensory Gym

Sensory gyms are structured environments fitted with specialized pieces of equipment proven to help children stimulate a their senses, as well as their vestibular and proprioception systems. Sensory gym equipment improves body awareness, motor skills, as well as communication and social skills. A true sensory gym is designed to create a nurturing and inclusive environment for children of varying abilities.

Why a "Sensory Gym"?

Our sensory gym is designed to be a friendly and welcoming space that ignite curiosity and encourage exploration.

The sensory gym is equipped with a diverse range of equipment to accommodate different sensory preferences and therapeutic goals.

From swings and climbing structures to tactile play stations and sensory mats, we provide opportunities for children to engage in activities that suit their individual needs and preferences.

Benefits of a Sensory Gym

1- Sensory Integration

For many children receiving occupational therapy or speech therapy, sensory integration plays a crucial role in their development.

Our sensory gym offers a variety of sensory experiences that help children regulate their sensory systems and improve their ability to process and respond to sensory input.

Whether they’re swinging on a platform swing, jumping on a trampoline, or exploring textures in our sensory bins, children have the opportunity to engage their senses in a controlled and supportive environment.

2- Motor Development

In addition to supporting sensory integration, our sensory gyms also focus on promoting the development of motor skills.

Through activities such as climbing, jumping, balancing, and crawling, children can build strength, coordination, and gross motor skills in a fun and engaging way.

Our therapists work closely with each child to design activities that target their specific motor skill needs, helping them make progress and achieve their therapy goals.

3- Fostering Communication Skills

For children receiving speech therapy, the sensory gym provides a dynamic setting for practicing communication skills.

Interactive games, imaginative play areas, and socialization opportunities allow children to engage in meaningful interactions with their peers and therapists.

By incorporating speech therapy techniques into play-based activities, children can work on language development, social communication, and pragmatic skills in a naturalistic and enjoyable context.
